CASE STUDY · APPRENTICESHIPS & TRAINING
Building a Consistent B2B Sales Pipeline for an Apprenticeship Provider
How structured outbound prospecting and appointment setting helped an apprenticeship provider generate qualified meetings and signed business without an internal SDR function.
Reported monthly averages across a 10-month engagement, not verified cumulative totals.
01 · The Challenge
No dedicated outbound function.
Our client, an apprenticeship provider, was looking to strengthen its business-to-business sales pipeline.
Without a dedicated internal Sales Development Representative (SDR) function, the business lacked consistent outbound activity targeting prospective employer customers.
As a result, new business opportunities were not being generated at the volume required to support its commercial ambitions.
The challenge was clear: establish a reliable flow of conversations with relevant business decision-makers without the immediate need to build an internal outbound sales team.
02 · Our Approach
Structured outbound prospecting.
A structured B2B outbound prospecting campaign was delivered, focused on engaging Managing Directors at prospective customer organisations.
The activity centred on three core areas:
- Proactive cold calling: reaching relevant business decision-makers directly to introduce the client's offering and identify potential requirements.
- Prospect qualification: assessing interest and suitability before progressing prospects into the sales pipeline.
- Qualified appointment setting: booking relevant sales meetings for the client's internal team to take forward.
Alongside booked appointments, the campaign generated additional marketing-qualified leads for future engagement and follow-up.
03 · The Results
Reported monthly averages.
Across the 10-month engagement, the campaign delivered the following reported monthly averages:
- 11 qualified sales meetings with prospective business customers.
- 12 additional marketing-qualified leads beyond the booked meetings.
- Approximately 2–3 signed deals per month directly attributable to outbound calling.
- £8,000 average signed deal value.
Qualified meetings and additional marketing-qualified leads are separate measures. Figures are reported monthly averages, not verified cumulative campaign totals. Average signed deal value is contract/order value, not independently verified revenue or profit.
04 · The Commercial Impact
An outsourced front-end pipeline function.
The campaign provided an outsourced outbound sales development function where no dedicated internal SDR team had previously been in place.
By consistently reaching Managing Directors, qualifying opportunities and booking appointments, the campaign helped address the client's lack of front-end pipeline activity.
The client's internal team could then focus on progressing qualified opportunities and converting them into signed business.
With regular appointments, additional marketing-qualified leads and reported monthly deal conversions, the engagement demonstrated how structured outbound prospecting could support commercial growth.
05 · The Outcome
Pipeline without building an SDR team.
For businesses without a dedicated sales development team, generating a consistent pipeline can be a significant challenge.
This engagement shows how an outsourced appointment-setting function can help bridge that gap, creating qualified conversations and supporting new business acquisition without requiring the client to build its own SDR function.
